PET (Position Emission Tomography) is a nuclear medicine technique for evaluating biomedical and physiological processes in the body.
The combination with CT scan adds anatomic information.

68 Ga FAPI PET/CT targets cancer associated fibroblast activation protein inhibitors. It has shown to be superior to FDG in a number of different types of cancers especially signet ring carcinoma of stomach and colon, serous adenocarcinoma of ovary, primary pancreatic cancer, biliary cancer, soft tissue sarcoma and renal cell carcinoma.

Preparation/Instructions

  • 2-3Hrs fasting is required.
  • Only clear water is allowed during fasting period.
  • Sr. Creatinine report is compulsory.
  • If Patient is admitted then no Glucose (eg. DNS/RL) content saline should be given to patient 12 hrs prior to PET/CT.
  • Patient needs to carry all old reports along with films and CD's.
  • One relative is compulsory with the patient.
  • Patient should not wear any jewelry.
